I am a very creative person who loves science but has grown tired of typical bench work. I will be completing my PhD this spring and I'd like to break into marketing and/or advertising, with a long-term goal of working for a pharmaceutical company in their marketing department. I have an excellent science background. Q. I m interested in going into marketing as a career, but I m not sure what exactly I would be learning in school. If it s just going to be something I could find out by reading a book, why would I want to go school for it? Asked by snownice70 - Tue Sep 30 16:23:30 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. You know it really depends what you want to do with your future career. Marketing is a broad spectrum, and can have very fluzzy jobs. I would start looking on monster or even you local newspaper to get an idea of what types of jobs are most popular in the area that you will reside. I went to college and received my Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing. It was the most interesting and fun degree as it evaluated many aspects of creative marketing, Market research, etc. Basically, you must get a Business Degree if you want to have a secure future career.
